The organizers of the illegal casino will be tried in Magadan

In the Magadan Region, a criminal investigation has been completed on charges of nine local residents of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal organization and conduct of gambling by an organized group with the extraction of income on an especially large scale"). According to the investigation, a 34-year-old local resident created in Magadan from September to December 2019 and then led a criminal group that had been carrying out illegal gambling activities in the regional center for almost 1.5 years. At various stages, the group included eight residents of the capital of Kolyma, who performed their assigned roles in the commission of a crime, the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region told MagadanMedia. In February 2021, criminal activity was suppressed. The illegal income amounted to at least 7,400,000 rubles. In the Kalininsky District of the Tver Region, employees of the Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, with the forceful support of SOBR fighters, suppressed the activities of an underground casino. It was established that a 41-year-old suspect organized an illegal gambling establishment. During the search, the police found and seized playing cards, chips, dealer buttons, cloth, cell phones and about 1 million rubles. From January to September, unidentified persons carried out gambling in one of the rented premises of the health complex. A criminal case was initiated.
