Koeman did not agree on his statement with the leadership of Barcelona

Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman made a statement on 22 September ahead of the Spanish championship match against Cadiz. The Dutchman read out the appeal, after which he immediately left the press conference room without answering journalists' questions. According to AS, that Koeman did not coordinate such a speech with the management - the public relations department of the Catalan club did not know about it. It came as a surprise to them as it did to the media. A few minutes before Koeman's release to the press, the Barcelona players learned about his intentions. Koeman has been leading Barcelona since summer 2020. Barcelona are ranked 8th in the 2021/22 Spanish Championship with 8 points in 4 games.
